We walked into town today, returning to a couple of places we particularly liked, also to make a couple of purchases. We decided that the above piece of artwork should be given a new home: our kitchen, back home.
The Little Red Fox, too, for the coffee is far too good. As is the kombucha and ginger beer. One of the features of Siem Reap as a whole is their locally sourced food stuffs, jewellery, art work, and other goods.

Also, their attention to eco-friendly living.

Siem Reap’s new airport is only one year old. It is one hour by taxi from Siem Reap itself, along the ‘Angkor highway’. The old airport was very close to the city and causing problems. It was built to minimise the impact of vibrations and air pollution on the Angkor Archaeological Park and Siem Reap town. It is cavernous, with little traffic, as yet.

After the relative quietude of Cambodia, pitching up at our hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi was something of a culture shock but a couple of beers later, surveying Hanoi on a school night, put us right. It’s Tuesday! It’s 23:30! Why aren’t these youngsters in bed?!
Bring on tomorrow…

btw, we managed the first leg of seeing this lady home.
